This is THE place!

Thanks again to Thom who found this interesting little ’statement’ in Northern Virginia.
Anyone else wondering what’s so special about the place?! Guess if you need a shop… you’d better get in there quick!
The sign on this small shop says:
“There is no place
like this place
anywhere near this place
so this must be
THE PLACE”

As found in the men’s toilet of a Turkish Restaurant… plus a nice little typo there too.
Is this really necessary?!

Thanks to Thom for this photo - classic waste of tax payers money no doubt.
“What purpose does this really serve? Do we need a sign to notify me the sidewalk has ended?
Why not signs at the top of every staircase indicating, “Stairs begin”? Or “Approaching Door”, near the entrance to every public building?
I have a concern for the time, money and energy that was expended to devise, construct, erect this sign!!”
Excuse the toilet humour, but…

Unfortunately this photo didn’t come out as well as I’d hoped it would - it was taken whilst queuing to cross the Clifton Suspension Bridge, where I saw it stuck in the back window of the car infront. We did feel a bit uncomfortable - Tom creeping the car up closer and closer and me practically in the dashboard, trying to get a good shot on my phone…
Anyway, it says:
“Do I look like a hemorrhoid? Then get off my ass!”
Now surely, this should be more along the lines of:
“Are you a hemorrhoid? Then get off my ass!”
What’s an ‘Air Conditioned TV’?

Thanks to Thom for sending this one over - “Th[is] photo may not quite fit into one of your normal submission genres. However, I laugh out loud every time I pass this small motel in New Jersey. What is an “Air Conditioned TV”? Why do you need one?”
It made us laugh too - keep ‘em coming!
And thanks to Thom for his comments about the site:
“I love your site. It is a delight to visit and discover a new (laughable) error. Our langauge is being degraded each day and your valiant effort to point out the inconsistencies has not gone unnoticed.” We of course share this praise with Miles - if not pass all of the credit on to him.
